O inicio da série CITADEL, super produção dos irmãos Russo para a Amazon Prime já tinha deixado dúvidas sérias sobre se a série do confronto entre duas agências de espionagem num futuro próximo tinha chance de êxito.
Que os recursos de produção – especialmente efeitos visuais eram ótimo não havia dúvida – mas será que conseguiriam segurar a barra.
O final da série, em termos de roteiro e criatividade foi desastroso.
O sétimo e último capítulo é tão ruim que a gente vê, perplexo até o final.
Tem até surpresa final de que fulano é filho da beltrana, um segredo até as cenas finais, algo que fica bem em novelas mexicanas. Mas para um serie de alta espionagem, em que o destino do mundo está nas mãos de super espiões, soa patético.
Um segundo ponto que fere de morte a série é o ator Richard Madden. Ele que havia tentado seriamente enterrar a ótima série BODYGUARD é hoje candidato a pior ator da atualidade. A inexpressividade dele (em muitas cenas involuntariamente lembra o Terminator do primeiro filme) é constrangedora.
O roteiro não pode ser pior. O expediente de alternar narrativas de tempos e lugares diversos aqui é desastroso, picotando a história de forma quase incompreensível.
Parece incrível que produtores e diretores ultra experimentados como os irmãos Russo tenha gasto milhões para fazer uma série tão ruim.
Pior é que os créditos finais anunciam a temporada dois, felizmente sem Madden.

There’s even a final surprise that reveals the son of one character, a secret until the final scenes, something that looks good in Mexican soap operas. But for a high-spy series, where the fate of the world rests in the hands of super spies, it sounds pathetic.
A second point that hurts the series to death is actor Richard Madden. He who had seriously tried to bury the great BODYGUARD series is very bad again, now a candidate for worst actor today. His inexpressiveness (in many scenes he involuntarily resembles the Terminator from the first film) is embarrassing.
The screenplay is also very bad. It is very confused with action in several times and places at the same time in an almost incomprehensible way.
It seems incredible that ultra experienced producers and directors like the Russo brothers would spend millions to make such a bad series.
Worse, the end credits announce season two, thankfully without Madden.
