Uma advogada veterana da área dos direitos humanos pega duas causas simultâneas: uma esposa que jura que seu marido encarcerado pelo assassinato de uma jovem 14 anos atrás é inocente e uma mulhar árabe que está para ser deportada da Inglaterra com seu bebê porque seria namorada de um suposto terrorista do ISIS.
Emma Banville estudou direito em Cambridge e foi ativista desde a faculdade, daquelas de participar de protestos, marchas e passeatas, tendo portanto, ficha longa com as autoridades policias britânicas. Hoje, mais experiente, está com o pai à morte, em um hospital londrino, mora com o namorado, pensa em adotar o filho que não teve, mas não hesita em por tudo a perder por seus clientes, em quem acredita cegamente. Ela é vivida, de uma forma incrível pela multipremiada atriz inglesa Helen McCrory, que trabalhou nos filmes de Harry Potter, em A RAINHA, ao lado de Helen Mirren, em SKYFALL, com Daniel Craig e em PEAKY BLINDERS. Aqui, faz o papel de sua vida, apaixonada, lutadora, revoltada, guerreira, disposta até a dar sua vida pela causa. Personagem de antologia.
No elenco maravilhoso, estão Sam Swainsbury (THOR), Jonathan Forbes, Robin Weigert (THE SESSIONS), a incrível Wunmi Mosaku(PHILOMENA) e o sempre excelente Michael Gambom (ASSASSINATO EM GOSFORD PARK).
Alguns poucos filmes conseguem retratar efetivamente a luta do cidadão para fazer valer seus direitos básicos quando o Estado, por qualquer razão, prefere atropelar o que a Constituição assegura. A máquina estatal e suas ramificações tem o poder de seduzir e usar muitas pessoas nesta tarefa. Poucos têm a coragem de lutar pelo que é certo.
FEARLESS é um exemplar maravilhoso de cinema da melhor qualidade, aliando uma história policial excelente com a emoção de um drama onde se luta para ver o lado humano vencer a mentira e não deixar impunes os que detém o poder.

A few films can effectively portray the citizen’s struggle to assert their basic rights when the state, for whatever reason, prefers to run over what the Constitution ensures. The state machine and its ramifications have the power to seduce and use many people in this task. Few have the courage to fight for what is right.
FEARLESS is a marvelous example of top-quality film, combining an excellent police story with the thrill of a drama where one struggles to see the human side win the lie and not leave unpunished those in power.
I recommend FEARLESS as a must see!
