O Western é um dos meus gêneros favoritos no cinema. Os clássicos como OS BRUTOS TAMBÉM AMAM, NO TEMPO DAS DILIGÊNCIAS, MATAR OU MORRER, O HOMEM QUE MATOU O FACÍNORA, RASTROS DE ÓDIO, ERA UMA VEZ NO OESTE, OS IMPERDOÁVEIS e tantos outros formaram muito da minha paixão cinematográfica.
Não sei porque não vi o filme OS INDOMÁVEIS (3:10 TO YUMA), de James Mangold (2007), um belíssimo western com um elenco espetacular, liderado por Russell Crowe e Christian Bale, dois dos melhores atores da atualidade.
Um fazendeiro pobre e com baixa autoestima em face de ter perdido uma perna, busca se reerguer perante a mulher e os dois filhos aceitando a missão de conduzir um dos maiores assaltantes da região ao Trem que parte de uma cidade vizinha dali dois dias para Yuma, mesmo sabendo que o bando dele fará desta uma missão impossível.
Ainda no elenco, a sempre linda e ótima Gretchen Mol, Ben Foster, Peter Fonda, Vinessa Shaw, Dallas Roberts, e Luke Wilson.
Os diálogos e o duelo de intepretações entre Bale e Crowe são sensacionais, digno de premiações. Vi que o filme foi indicado ao Oscar pela ótima trilha de Marco Beltrami e pela edição de som.
Todos os temas icônicos do western dão o ar da graça em OS INDOMÁVEIS. O código de honra, a lealdade, os que desistem ao primeiro sinal de perigo, coragem x covardia, princípios x dinheiro, palavra x oportunismo.
James Mangold se consagrou recentemente pelo extraoredinário sucesso de seu LOGAN, a retomada da saga de WOLVERINE em altíssimo estilo. OS INDOMÁVEIS já era um filme deste mesmo top de linha.

I do not know why I did not see James Mangold 3:10 TO YUMA(2007), a beautiful western with a spectacular cast, led by Russell Crowe and Christian Bale, two of the best actors of our days.

The dialogues and duel of interpretations between Bale and Crowe are sensational, worthy of awards. I saw that the film was nominated for an Oscar for Marco Beltrami’s great soundtrack and sound editing.
All the iconic Western themes give the air of grace in the movie. The code of honor, loyalty, those who give up at the first sign of danger, courage x cowardice, principles x money, word x opportunism.
James Mangold was recently consecrated by the extraordinary success of his LOGAN, the retaking of the saga of WOLVERINE in very high style. 3:10 TO YUMA was already a film of this same very high level.
