ÀS CEGAS (BIRD BOX), de Suzanne Bier é um filme pós-apocalíptico com muitos méritos em sua pretensão de criar um suspense quase insuportável, contando a história de uma mulher com duas crianças em busca de abrigo em um mundo caótico.
A cineasta Suzanne Bier já tinha se saído maravilhosamente bem na mini série THE NIGHT MANAGER, com Hugh Laurie e Tom Hidleston, uma das melhores dos últimos anos.
No filme ÀS CEGAS, o mundo está sofrendo uma espécie de epidemia, em que as pessoas enlouquecem e passam a se suicidar aparentemente por enxergar seus piores medos.
Há duas narrativas em ÀS CEGAS: o tempo presente, onde a protagonista Malorie (Sandra Bullock) tenta chegar a um refúgio seguro, com as duas crianças, sem poder tirar as vendas dos olhos e o início da saga, onde ela grávida ficou presa com um grupo de refugiados em uma casa isolada.
No primeiro foco, há um suspense terrível, porque a jornada é cercada de incertezas, perigos e acidentes de percurso que se tornam superlativos pelo fato de que os personagens não podem olhar o que está acontecendo.
No flashback, o processo de enlouquecimento coletivo, paranoia e desespero vai corroendo a convivência entre os membros do grupo.
O elenco de ÀS CEGAS, além de Sandra Bullock, tem o sempre excelente John Malkovich, Sarah Paulson, Jackie Weaver, Tom Hollander e BD Wong.
Lançado diretamente na NETFLIX, ÀS CEGAS faz jus ao tititi que lhe precedeu. Não somente por trazer o trabalho de uma atriz de primeira linha de Holywood para o streaming, como pela excelente qualidade do filme dentro de sua proposta do gênero de suspense.
