LINE OF DUTY é uma excelente série inglesa sobre um Departamento da Polícia que investiga casos de corrupção entre policiais. É o C12, uma espécie de Corregedoria da Polícia Britânica. Nas temporadas anteriores, as histórias já eram excelentes, pontificando aquela da investigação sobre a Chefe de Polícia vivida por Thandie Newton (sempre excelente).
Nesta quinta temporada os seis episódios (que maravilha temporadas curtas) focam as investigações sobre os atos de um policial infiltrado em uma quadrilha especializada em roubos de drogas apreendidas pelo estado.
O filme inicia com um assalto a um comboio que leva drigas apreendidas para serem destruídas. A cena é impressionantemente bem feita e cheia de suspense.
O trio central de detetivas do C12 é vivido por Martin Compstom (como o Sargento Steve Arnott ainda enfrentando dores decorrentes da queda que o tornou quase paralítico na temporada quatro), Vickie McClure (a excelente kate Fleming) e o ótimo Adrian Dunbar (o chefe do setor enfrentando um divórcio complicado).
Mesmo tendo a sisudez típica das séries inglesas, LINE OF DUTY capricha muito nos dilemas existenciais e axiológicos de seus protagonistas divididos entre o sendo de dever e o fato de estarem expondo colegas policiais a investigações profundamente incômodas.
Trata-se de uma das melhores séries da TV atual, ainda mais para quem admira bons filmes policiais.
LINE OF DUTY is an excellent Brittish series on a Police Department that investigates cases of police corruption. It’s the C12, a sort of Internal Affairs. In the previous seasons, the stories were already excellent, being the higlight the one of the investigation on the Police Chief lived by Thandie Newton (always excellent).
This season’s six episodes (short seasons are great) focus on investigations into the actions of a police officer infiltrating a gang specializing in drug theft seized by the state.
The film begins with a robbery to a convoy that takes apprehended drugs to be destroyed. The scene is stunningly well done and full of suspense.
The central trio of detectives of the C12 is lived by Martin Compstom (as Sergeant Steve Arnott still facing pains of the fall that made him almost paralyzed in season four), Vickie McClure (the excellent Kate Fleming) and the great Adrian Dunbar (the head of the C12 facing a complicated divorce).
LINE OF DUTY captures much in the existential and axiological dilemmas of its protagonists divided between being of duty and the fact that they are exposing police colleagues to deeply uncomfortable investigations.
This is one of the best series on current TV, especially for those who admire good cop movies
