Uma das imagens mais famosas nas memórias afetivas de todos nós é o letreiro THE END aparecendo na tela do cinema ao final do filme. Normalmente, ele antecede a rolagem dos créditos do elenco e equipe de produção dos filmes. Como fazer um filme está cada vez um trabalho mais complexo, as equipes aumentaram e, consequentemente, os créditos se multiplicaram.
Poucas pessoas ficam no cinema olhando os créditos até o final. Há muitas informações curiosas a serem “pesquisadas” nos créditos: os nomes de pessoas chave, como atores ou atrizes, roteiristas, fotógrafos, compositores (ou o nome ou autor de uma canção que fez parte da trilha sonora), menções interessantes (nomes dos advogados que assessoraram a produção para quem trabalha na área) etc.
Há várias histórias interessantes sobre a rolagem dos créditos finais de filmes: uma das melhores para mim ocorreu em uma sessão de O SENHOR DOS ANÉIS: A SOCIEDADE DO ANEL, primeiro filme da trilogia de Peter Jackson. Um senhor que não sabia ser uma trilogia estava vendo o filme e quando o grupo de heróis cruza a montanha na cena final, vê o “lanterninha” (ainda existe esta figura?) do cinema se dirigir para as portas de saída e escancará-las para possibilitar a saída do público que lotava a sala. Ele grita com o funcionário: “Fecha estas portas que o filme não terminou!” Imediatamente começam a rolar os créditos finais deste primeiro episódio da franquia. Risadas gerais e incredulidade dele em saber que ainda haveria mais dois filmes.
Os filmes da MARVEL criaram o hábito de colocar cenas novas dos filmes em meio aos créditos e até mesmo “pós-créditos”, tradição que está criando a cultura das pessoas esperarem no cinema para ver estas cenas (normalmente indicando o que vêm por aí). Acho uma ideia bem interessante.
Alguns filmes (usualmente comédias) colocam nos créditos finais cenas não utilizadas na montagem final e/ou tomadas que deram errado, os “outtakes”.

Very few people stay in the theater to see the credits until the last one. There are several interesting information to see (or research) in the credits: the name of one actor or actress, who is the screen writer, the cinematographer, some music or singer etc.
There are several comic stories about credits of movies. One of the best is a man that went to see LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING, first chapter of the trilogy without knowing that it was just the first part of the history. When, in the final scene, the heroes begin to scale a mountain, he sees the employee of the theater opening the doors and shout: “Close these doors. The movie is not ended.” Immediately, the final credits begin to roll up in the screen. Everybody laughs.
The movies of MARVEL STUDIOS begin a trend to insert new scenes among the final credits and even after them. This is a way to impose that more people stays in the theater until the last credit.
Another movies, usually comedies, insert outtakes at the credits.
