The Nordic Noir movement started with the trilogy of the writer Stieg Larsson, with the character Lissbeth Salander in THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATOO. The success was such huge that it opened the eyes of the entertainment industry to a series of books, films and series that producers in the Nordic countries had been making for years.
