A NETFLIX tem em seu cardápio o filme O SEQUESTRO DO ÔNIBUS 657, que o cineasta inglês Scott Man (das séries STRIKE BACK e SIX e do filme FINAL SCORE) dirigiu contando a história de um croupier de um cassino suspeito que vendo sua filha às portas da morte por não ter dinheiro para pagar o tratamento, decide roubar o lugar, com a ajuda de outro empregado truculento do Cassino. O roubo sai todo errado e eles terminam sequestrando um ônibus de passageiros e sendo perseguidos pela Polícia e pelos seguranças do dono do cassino.
O filme tem um ótimo elenco: Robert de Niro, sempre um ator interessante de ser visto é o mafioso dono do Cassino; Jeffrey Dean Morgan (de TWD e THE GOOD WIFE) é o ladrão com uma boa causa. Dave Bautista é o ladrão mau. Kate Bosworth faz a filha do mafioso. Morris Chestnut é o principal assecla do roubado. D.B.Sweeney faz o motorista do ônibus. E Gina Carano faz uma policial que entende o que está havendo.
HEIST ainda ousa abordar alguns temas mais profundos, como a discriminação do sistema de saúde americano, as relações obscuras entre dinheiro sujo e cassinos, corrupção policial, o vício da mídia em espetacularizar as notícias, o que dá um tempero à história, já um pouco batida em muitos filmes.
Já escrevi aqui que gosto muito destes filmes de HEIST. O planejamento do roubo e a execução (que quase nunca sai igual) são muito divertidos de se ver.
Este HEIST não faz feio. É um thriller que dá para ver sem susto.
NETFLIX has on its menu the film HEIST, which the English filmmaker Scott Man (from the series STRIKE BACK and SIX and the film FINAL SCORE) directed telling the story of a croupier from a suspected casino who, seeing his daughter on the verge of death for not having money to pay for the treatment, decides to steal the place, with the help of another truculent employee of the Casino. The theft goes wrong and they end up hijacking a passenger bus and being chased by the police and the security guards of the casino owner.
The film has a great cast: Robert de Niro, always an interesting actor to be seen is the mobster owner of the Casino; Jeffrey Dean Morgan (from TWD and THE GOOD WIFE) is the thief with a good cause. Dave Bautista is the bad thief. Kate Bosworth plays the mobster’s daughter. Morris Chestnut is the main employee of the stolen. D.B.Sweeney does the bus driver. And Gina Carano plays a police officer who understands what’s going on.
HEIST still dares to address some deeper issues, such as the discrimination of the American health care system, the obscure relationships between dirty money and casinos, police corruption, the media’s addiction to spectacularizing the news, which adds spice to the story, already a little beat in many films.
I already wrote here that I really like these HEIST films. Theft planning and execution (which almost never comes out the same) is a lot of fun to see.
This HEIST is not bad. It’s a thriller that you can see without fear.
