HOUSEMAID, o filme que o cineasta coreano Sang-Soo Im rodou em 2010 ( e que está no MHZ da Amazon) é uma mescla de drama social e filme de terror.
Um mulher pobre consegue emprego de doméstica em uma mansão de uma família milionária. moram na casa a patroa, uma mulher grávida de gêmeos em fase final de gestação, o marido, um negociante que fica quase todo tempo ausente, a filha pequena do casal e uma espécie de governanta que comanda tudo.
Em pouco tempo, a jovem cai nas graças do patrão que passa a frequentar o quarto dela todas as noites.
A história dá uma guinada quando todos passam a desconfiar que a empregada está grávida do patrão, o que inicia uma série de acontecimentos próprios de um filme de terror. Curiosamente, o filme tem duas cenas claramente inspiradas em A PROFECIA, de Richard Donner, aquele do diabinho Damien.
Na minha opinião, o encanto de HOUSEMAID meio que se esvaneceu na metade do filme, quando houve a mudança de tom da narrativa. O drama social com pitadas eróticas tinha sido bem mais eficaz.

A poor woman gets a job as a maid in a mansion of a millionaire family. the boss lives in the house, a woman pregnant with twins in the final stages of pregnancy, her husband, a businessman who is absent almost all the time, the couple’s little daughter and a kind of housekeeper who runs everything.
In a short time, the young woman is grateful to the boss who goes to her room every night.
The story takes a turn when everyone starts to suspect that the maid is pregnant with her boss, which starts a series of events typical of a horror movie. Interestingly, the film has two scenes clearly inspired by Richard Donner’s THE OMEN, that one of the little devil Damien.
In my opinion, the charm of HOUSEMAID kind of faded in the middle of the film, when the narrative’s tone changed. The social drama with erotic hints had been far more effective.
