Nascido em Berlim, em 1933 (faleceu aos 69 anos, em 2003), o ator Horst Buchholz carrega o mito de ter sido um dos piores (e mais inexpressivos) atores de todos os tempos.
Acho a fama injusta. Não que Buchholz fosse um primor de atuação nas telas. Longe disso. Mas a fama de pior de todos é claro exagero.
Buchholz trabalhou em uma obra prima, SETE HOMENS E UM DESTINO, onde viveu o pistoleiro Chico.
Esteve também no Oscarizado A VIDA É BELA.
Mas nos 91 filmes em que trabalhou, poucas vezes chamou a atenção positivamente.
Era bem fraquinho.
Um dos meus maiores amigos na vida (já falecido) foi meu colega de faculdade Walter Buchholz Jr.
Seguidamente, eu implicava com o Walter sobre o primo dele que era péssimo ator.
Certamente não era parente do Walter.

I think fame is unfair. Not that Buchholz was a masterpiece of screen acting. Far from it. But the reputation of worst of all is clearly exaggerated.
Buchholz worked on a masterpiece, THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, where he was the gunslinger Chico.
He was also at the Oscar-winning LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.
But in the 91 films he worked on, he rarely drew positive attention.
He was bad.
One of my greatest friends in life (now deceased) was my college roommate Walter Buchholz Jr.
Afterwards, I would tease Walter about his cousin who was a terrible actor.
He certainly wasn’t related to Walter.
