Como fã da atriz inglesa Naomi Watts, segurei a tendência de ver logo que foi lançado no HBO MAX, o drama TEMPESTADE INFINITA, dirigida por uma dupla de diretores heterodoxa: os poloneses Małgorzata Szumowska e Michal Englert. A produção do filme é da Sony com apoio do Polski Instytut Szutki Fimowej. As filmagens foram feitas na Eslovênia.
O filme se baseia no livro autobiográfico de Pam Bales, uma enfermeira e guia de montanha que põe sua vida em risco para salvar um jovem viúvo às portas do suicídio.
Pam está absolutamente solitária e deprimida pela perda das duas filhas em uma tragédia devastadora. Luta para ter motivo para seguir vivendo. É quando ela recebe o chamado sobre um jovem (Bill Howle) que desapareceu no Monte Washington, próximo da casa dela.
O filme tem apenas 97 minutos. A luta de Pam para resgatar John e trazê-lo vivo antes do anoitecer é impressionante.
Achei o filme muito bem feito. Embora seja linear, é de produção ótima e guarda uma cereja para o final, em cenas emocionantes.
Naomi Watts sempre me impressiona por seu desapego aos padrões de atrizes do seu nível. Ela não tem pudor em se despir nas telas, psicologicamente ou corporalmente. Passa a sensação de mergulhar de cabeça nos papéis que interpreta.
Aqui, outra vez sua Pan é ótima, no sofrimento e na força.
TEMPESTADE INFINITA tem vários elementos que o recomendam.
As a fan of the English actress Naomi Watts, I wait to watch the drama INFINITE STORM as soon as it was released on HBO MAX, directed by a heterodox directorial duo: the Polish Małgorzata Szumowska and Michal Englert. The film is based on the autobiographical book by Pam Bales, a nurse and mountain guide who puts her life on the line to save a young widower on the brink of suicide.
Pam is utterly lonely and depressed over the loss of her two daughters in a devastating tragedy. She struggles to have a reason to go on living. That’s when she receives the call about a young man (Bill Howle) who disappeared on Mount Washington, near her home.
The film is only 97 minutes long. Pam’s struggle to rescue John and bring him back alive before nightfall is impressive.
I thought the film was very well done. Although it is linear, it is well produced and saves a cherry for the end, in emotional scenes.
Naomi Watts always impresses me with her detachment from the standards of actresses of her level. She has no qualms about undressing on screen, psychologically or physically. She gives the feeling of diving headlong into the roles she plays.
Here again her Pan is great, in suffering and in strength.
INFINITE STORM has several elements that recommend it.
