Pois o rapaz conseguiu de novo, fazer um filme incrível.
OS BANSHEES DE INISHERIN narra a história de dois amigos que certo dia, por um motivo meio obscuro, entram em conflito, na remota ilha de Inisherin, na costa da Irlanda. Um deles anuncia na pequena comunidade – e frente ao ex-amigo – que cada vez que for procurado pelo novo desafeto, cortará um dedo da própria mão.
Quando cumpre a promessa pela primeira vez, choca a todos. Mais grave ainda é a situação porque Colm Doherty (Brian Gleeson incrível) tem entre seus poucos prazeres, tocar violino no pub local, para delírio dos habitantes de Inisherin.
Padráic Suilleabhain (Colin Farrell em seu melhor trabalho) tenta por todas as formas demover o ex-amigo, o que somente resulta em novas decepações de dedos.
Tudo é acompanhado pelos habitantes locais, inclusive uma Banshee (uma espécie de feiticeira que prenuncia mortes).
O filme de McDonagh é belíssimo, fazendo uma excepcional utilização do cenário natural deslumbrante da costa irlandesa.
O filme, muitas vezes lembra a obra prima (uma delas) de Ridley Scott, OS DUELISTAS.
O filme é muito duro e sem concessões.
Um drama, na acepção da palavra. Notável, contundente e comovente. O ser humano é mesmo capaz de coisas insondáveis.

Well, the boy managed to make an incredible film again.
THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN tells the story of two friends who one day, for some obscure reason, come into conflict on the remote island of Inisherin, off the coast of Ireland. One of them announces in the small community-and in front of his former friend-that every time he is sought out by his new foe, he will cut off a finger on his own hand.
When he fulfills the promise for the first time, he shocks everyone. Even more serious is the situation because Colm Doherty (an incredible Brian Gleeson) has among his few pleasures, playing the violin in the local pub, to the delight of the inhabitants of Inisherin.
Padráic Suilleabhain (Colin Farrell in his best work) tries in every way to dissuade his former friend, which only results in new finger cuts.
Everything is accompanied by the locals, including a Banshee (a kind of sorceress who foretells deaths).
McDonagh’s film is beautiful, making exceptional use of the stunning natural setting of the Irish coast.
The film is often reminiscent of Ridley Scott‘s masterpiece (one of them), THE DUELISTS.
The film is very harsh and without concessions.
A drama in the truest sense of the word. Remarkable, blunt and moving. Human beings are capable of unfathomable things.
