Volta e meia aparecem alguns filmes cujo lirismo da história e da abordagem feita pelo cineasta surpreendem por fugir à realidade da vida. Lembro muito de O PEIXE GRANDE E SUAS HISTÓRIAS MARAVILHOSAS, de Tim Burton. Este O HOMEM QUE MATOU HITLER E DEPOIS O PÉ GRANDE (2018), de Robert D. Krzykowski desconcerta ainda mais porque se trata de um filme de estréia do cineasta no longa metragem. Por enquanto, o filme somente stá disponível no ITunes e na Amazon Prime Video.
O primeiro acerto do filme é dar o papel de protagonista a um excelente ator, geralmente destacado coadjuvante em ótimos filmes. Sam Elliot, veterano ator Californiano de 75 anos, brilhou em NASCE UMA ESTRELA, O GRANDE LEBOWSKI, AMOR SEM ESCALAS, TOMBSTONE : A JUSTIÇA ESTÁ CHEGANDO e MARCAS DO DESTINO, apenas para cita alguns títulos.
Não me lembro de um filme em que ele foi o ator principal. Neste O HOMEM QUE MATOU HITLER E DEPOIS O PÉ GRANDE ele vive o personagem principal, o agente Calvin Barr (vivido quando jovem pelo ator Aidan Turner, de O HOBBIT). Barr tem uma longa história de serviços prestados ao País, sendo o mais importante (e menos conhecido) ter feito o papel de Soldado da SS Nazista para matar Adolf Hitler), no final da II Guerra Mundial.
A missão secreta na Guerra lhe custou o amor de sua vida, a linda Maxine, interpretada pela ótima e ascedente atriz Caitlin FitzGerald, de MASTERS OF SEX e SWEETBITTER. O enredo do filme ainda traz uma outra trama maluca, onde já aposentado, o agente Barr é prcurado pelo Serviço Secreto para matar o lendário Pé Grande, que doente está espalhando uma epidemia no norte dos EUA.
Também estão no elenco, em alto nível, Larry Miller (de UMA LINDA MULHER), Ron Livingstone (COMO ENLOUQUECER SEU CHEFE) e o ator canadense Rizwan Manji.
A trama maluca do filme proporciona momentos de non sense absolutamente deliciosos para o espectador, diálogos surreais e personagens ao mesmo tempo, ternos, cômicos e dramáticos.
O HOMEM QUE MATOU HITLER E DEPOIS O PÉ GRANDE é um achado cinematográfico. Criativo, bonito, lírico, emocionante e engraçado, o filme mais do que atinge o propósito de seu diretor. É entretenimento de alto nível.
From time to time appear some films whose lyricism of the story and the approach taken by the filmmaker surprise for escaping from the reality of life. I remember Tim Burton’s BIG FISH. This THE MAN WHO KILLED HITLER AND THEN THE BIGFOOT, by Robert D. Krzykowski’s (2018) baffles even more because it is a debut in feature film of the filmmaker. For now, the movie is only available on ITunes and Amazon Prime Video.
The first hit of the movie is to placê in the main role an excellent actor, often featured as supporting cast in great films. Sam Elliot, a veteran Californian actor of 75 years, shine in A STAR IS BORN, THE GREAT LEBOWSKI, TOMBSTONE and MASK, just to name a few titles.
I don’t remember a movie in which he was the lead actor. In this The Man Who Killed Hittler And Then The Bigfoot he lives the main character, Agent Calvin Barr (lived as a young man by actor Aidan Turner of THE HOBBIT). Barr has a long history of service to the country, most importantly (and least known) playing the role of Nazi SS Soldier to kill Adolf Hitler at the end of World War II.
The secret mission in the war cost him the love of his life, the beautiful Maxine, played by the great, up-and-coming actress Caitlin FitzGerald of MASTERS OF SEX and SWEETBITTER. The film also has another crazy plot, where already retired, Agent Barr is sought by the Secret Service to kill the legendary Bigfoot, who is spreading an epidemic in the north of the US.
Also featured in the cast are Larry Miller (PRETTY WOMAN), Ron Livingstone and Canadian actor Rizwan Manji.
The film’s crazy plot provides absolutely delightful non-sense moments for the viewer, surreal dialogues and characters at the same time, tender, comic and dramatic.
THE MAN WHO KILLED HITLER AND THEN THE BIGFOOT is a cinematic gem. Creative, beautiful, lyrical, exciting and funny, the film more than meets the purpose of its director. It’s top notch entertainment.
