Um atriz americana está em Paris filmando uma série que recria um filme clássico, LES VAMPIRES. Ali ela vai trabalhar, amar e viver todas as suas inseguranças.
A ótima e oscarizada atriz sueca Alicia Vikander vive a atormentada protagonista Mira, uma super star, assediada pela imprensa e ainda traumatizada pelo fora que levou da namorada Laurie (Adria Arjona), sua ex-assistente, hoje namorada do diretor do último filme de Mira, o polemista Herman (Byron Bowers).
O primeiro capítulo mostra o talento de Olivier Assayas. A trama tem tudo de bom. Mostra o processo criativo do cinema, as dificuldades de uma produção, o glamour de Paris e a tensão (e sensualidade) das paixões.
Gostei muito deste primeiro episódio. A meta linguagem (o filme dentro do filme) funcionou à perfeição.
O padrão HBO de excelência ajudou bastante, Há muitas cenas de tirar o fôlego. Os duelos verbais entre Mira e Laurie são deliciosos.
Vamos ver onde tudo vai dar. Por enquanto em uma bela série.

The great and Oscar-winning Swedish actress Alicia Vikander plays the tormented protagonist Mira, a superstar, harassed by the press and still traumatized by the abuse she took from her girlfriend Laurie (Adria Arjona), her former assistant, now the girlfriend of the director of the last Mira’s film, the polemicist Herman (Byron Bowers).
The first chapter showcases the talent of Olivier Assayas. The plot is all good. It shows the creative process of cinema, the difficulties of a production, the glamour of Paris and the tension (and sensuality) of passions.
I really enjoyed this first episode. The meta language (the film within the film) worked flawlessly.
The HBO standard of excellence helped a lot. There are many breathtaking scenes. The verbal duels between Mira and Laurie are delicious.
Let’s see where it all goes. For now in a nice series.
